Design Verification

Once a design is completed and a prototype is tested, design verification can begin. This can be as simple as testing all signals on a pre-production run, or as complex as a full environmental test, where temperature, humidity, power levels, etc, are test at extremes and a combination of extremes. Full factorial testing or DOE efficient processes can be employed.

Full factorial methods are also useful when creating calibration data from multiple end products. Calibration curves can be generated to minimize (and characterize) sensor data.

The benefit to this step is a high level of confidence is achieved prior to going to volume production.
